Recently, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) has reached the financial income
of the 50MW La Solanilla photovoltaic project located in Trujillo, in the province of Cáceres, Spain.
FRV has signed a financing agreement with Banco Sabadell, which is expected to begin construction
by the end of 2018.
Once completed, the site will generate about 103 GWh of clean energy per year, enough to power 25,000 Spanish homes and reduce emissions
of about 1 kilogram of carbon dioxide per hour.
The project will be built under an EPC contract by Spanish company Cobra and is expected to create 300 local jobs
.
Once operational, five of these jobs
will be retained.
Managing Director of FRV Europe said, "We are honoured to work together
again.
The project is the result of the clear focus of the Extremadura government on the renewable energy sector, a mentality
shared by the Trujillo City Council.
