Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease
    .

Patients with AS have excess cardiovascular risk and are attributable to long-term systemic inflammation

    Vascular myocardial infarction

Data was collected from NHIRD over a period of 15 years
    .

The variables were analyzed using Pearson's chi-square test and Fisher's exact test

A total of 5905 AS patients were included, including 1181 (20%) patients with uveitis and 4724 (80%) patients without uveitis
    .

The Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test showed that the cumulative risk of acute myocardial infarction was significantly higher in the uveitis group than in the non-uveitis group (p<0.

Patients with uveitis had a higher rate of acute myocardial infarction, regardless of coexisting conditions
    .

Compared with patients without uveitis, patients with uveitis had a higher risk of developing acute myocardial infarction

Uveitis is an important risk factor for acute myocardial infarction in AS patients
    .

Physicians should be aware of the potential cardiovascular risk of uveitis in patients with AS, especially in combination with other traditional risk factors for AMI
