The EU's competition regulator on Monday approved a state aid worth 200 million euros to support France in developing renewable energy generation
for self-consumption by 2020.
The European Commission said the French government's support plan would help add 490 megawatts of new capacity and could be used for smaller installations
.
It said the selected units would be charged
a premium at the market price over 10 years.
