Florida Power and Light has opened four new PV projects
    in the state.
It is understood that each project has a power generation capacity of 74.
    5 megawatts
    .

The four new projects are as follows: the FPL Barefoot Bay Solar Center in Brevard County, the FPL Blue Cypress Solar Center in Indian River County, the FPL Loggerhead Solar Center in St.
Lucie County and the FPL Hammock Solar Center
    in Hendry County.

FPL's President and CEO said, "We are committed to promoting affordable and clean energy, and we are building some of the lowest cost general purpose solar projects ever, reducing costs
    for our customers.
The completion of these newest plants demonstrates that these projects are both clean and affordable, bringing countless economic and environmental benefits
to our customers and the communities we serve.

To date, FPL has completed 8 PV projects
    in Florida.
Each project has a generating capacity of 74.
    5MW.

The eight installations are expected to save FPL customers more than $100 million in total system costs during their operations, already exceeding the cost of building and operating the
    plant.

FPL is currently among the largest solar expansions ever undertaken in the United States, with the company adding more than 3.
    5 million solar panels
    in the past two years.
From 2016 to 2023, FPL expects to install a total of more than 10 million solar panels
    .
These advances continue to improve FPL's carbon emissions, which are already about 30%
    above the U.
    S.
    industry average.
