Evonik has recently announced a number of new developments that are expected to develop into new innovative growth areas with considerable sales potential
.
It is reported that the latest research and development results released by Evonik include three categories
.
The first is an electrochemical process based on ceramic separation membranes, which can achieve efficient lithium recovery
.
The technology efficiently recovers lithium and reduces energy and chemical usage
.
The separation membrane can be used in the heart of the electrochemical process to process lithium recovery solutions containing lithium, cobalt, nickel and manganese to generate high-purity lithium hydroxide for the manufacture of new batteries
.
Evonik is conducting technical tests at its Hanau and Marr sites in Germany and hopes to achieve commercial application
in 3~5 years.
The second is a series of bioactivators, which can reduce the application amount
of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers.
The company's bioactivators stimulate natural reactions in soil and plants, increasing nutrient uptake and thus promoting plant growth
.
Evonik is currently conducting trials under different greenhouse environmental conditions and expects to launch the first commercial biostimulant formulations
in 2025~2027.
The third is the detection method of chicken products based on epigenetics, which can speculate on the breeding methods
of animals.
In the coming months, Evonik will further clarify the value
of the technology for retail, meat processing and agricultural manufacturers.
To further strengthen the company's innovative strength, Evonik plans to continuously unlock the potential of
innovative growth areas.
Evonik has set a goal
of exceeding €1 billion in sales of innovative products by 2025.
In 2021, Evonik's Innovation Growth Area already contributed more than €500 million in sales, an increase of around 40 percent
compared to the previous year.
