Recently, German energy company E.
on SE said that the 400 MW Rampion offshore wind farm off the coast of Sussex in the United Kingdom was officially opened
.
Offshore wind farms now provide enough green electricity to around 350,000 UK households, setting a new electricity record
in the country.
It is understood that the project has been under construction for three years
.
It was the first wind farm
on the south coast of the UK.
Named after Sussex's flowers, the offshore wind farm will make an important contribution
to achieving the UK's climate goals over the next 25 years.
The wind farm project employs around 750 people at peak hours, and all 116 turbines were put into operation
in the spring.
By summer 2019, the visitor centre is scheduled to open on the waterfront promenade of the Brighton seaside resort, with interactive exhibits providing information
on climate change, offshore wind energy and Rampion.

ON's Chief Operating Officer for Climate and Renewables told guests from politics and business, "We continue to see the UK as an attractive market
for offshore wind expansion.
Government support for this technology and smart money systems are also models
for other European countries.

of E.
ON, a consortium of Canadian energy company Enbridge and Green Investment Rampion Ltd.
E.
ON is responsible for the construction and operation
of wind farms.
Over the past decade, E.
ON has invested almost €3 billion in renewable energy projects
in the UK.
With the completion of the Rampion offshore wind farm, the company has nearly 1.
2 GW of wind power in the UK and more than 6 GW of wind capacity
worldwide.
