ENGIE North America announced that it has signed an agreement
to acquire EIX's SoCore Energy.
SoCore Energy is a fully integrated developer, owner and operator
of cooperative solar, community solar, and commercial and industrial (C&I) photovoltaic projects across the U.
S.
market.
The acquisition includes 150 MW of PV assets under construction or operation, as well as 170 MW PV projects in later stages and projects
incorporating battery storage elements.
Headquartered in Chicago, USA, SoCore Energy's PV responsibilities include project development, engineering, project financing, procurement, project management, and operations management
.
ENGIE intends to retain SoCore Energy's personnel and Chicago headquarters
.
The ENGIE and SoCore teams will collaborate on the latter's PV portfolio and will continue to own and operate these projects
after commercial operation.
"As with our recent announcement of the acquisition of wind energy developer Infinity Renewables, we are now investing in an experienced and accomplished development team that we look forward to working with to accelerate the expansion
of our renewable energy projects within the United States," said ENGIE North America's President and CEO.
