Recently, researchers from cardiovascular department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University published a paper to explore the effect of resveratrol on smoking induced mitochondrial dysfunction and premature endothelial cell failure Resveratrol, targeting the mitochondrial function of endothelial cells, can inhibit the premature cell failure caused by smoking, which provides a new direction for clinical treatment This article was published in the Journal of Chengdu Medical College, the first issue in 2015 Human umbilical vein endothelial cell lines were cultured and cigarette smoke extract was added to simulate smoking environment The experiment was divided into normal control group, smoking simulation group and resveratrol treatment group After 12, 24 and 48 hours of intervention with different concentrations of cigarette smoke extract (CSE), the positive rate of β - galactosidase staining, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase activity, telomerase activity and intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were detected Resveratrol can improve the proliferation inhibition, telomerase activity and cytochrome C oxidase activity of endothelial cells induced by different concentrations of CSE at 12, 24 and 48h, and can reduce the positive rate of β - galactosidase staining and the level of ROS in cells, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
