On November 2, the Economic and Commercial Office of Vietnam in Thailand held a Vietnam Fruit Trade Promotion Forum
in Bangkok in cooperation with the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association in a combination of online and offline methods.

Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam and representatives of enterprises from both countries participated in the forum
    .

Nguyen Thanh Binh, chairman of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, said that at present, Vietnamese fruits account for 14.
3% of the total value of agricultural products, and exports account for 10% to 20%
    of total export production.
    Vietnam exports fruits
to more than 70 countries and regions around the world.
Large markets such as China, the United States and Japan are opening their markets
to Vietnamese high-quality fruits such as durian, green grapefruit, passion fruit and banana.

    of total export production.

    Ms.
Le Thi Mei Anh from the Asian-African Market Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Vietnam and Thailand have great potential
for cooperation in the fields of agricultural products, vegetables and fruits.
The two sides should further promote investment and cooperation between the two countries in high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture and processing, and integrate agricultural products into the retail system of
    each country.
In addition, the two sides may consider cooperation in the production chain and supply chain construction of agricultural products, fresh vegetables and fruits to promote exports to third countries, thereby enhancing the position
of Vietnamese and Thai goods in the global supply chain.

Nguyen Thanh Huy, Commercial Commissioner of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, said that in recent years, Vietnamese products have become more and more favored by Thai customers, such as coffee, fruits (lychee, grapefruit, dragon fruit), handicrafts and other products
    .
However, the market for the above products has not been fully tapped
    .

Nguyen Thanh Hui suggested that Vietnamese companies study the specific needs of each market in detail, grasp the consumption habits of consumers, and make appropriate adjustments to products, so as to increase the sales of
    products in the Thai market.

Paul Le, vice president of Central Retail (Vietnam), a subsidiary of Thailand's Central Group, said that Vietnam has a long coastline and has four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter in the north, which can grow temperate fruits, while the south is suitable for growing tropical fruits
    .

Vietnamese fruits are rich and varied, and the taste is also very good
    .
Vietnam can improve packaging technology to diversify
    fruit processing products.
Also, holding a Vietnamese fruit festival in Thailand is a very good idea
    .

Le said Thailand has built an east-west economic corridor and is using it to transport goods to China
    through Vietnam.
This is a favorable cooperation opportunity
for logistics enterprises of the two countries.
