EBRD will finance 85 MW of PV projects in Turkey

Recently, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has allocated up to $55 million to help pay for the construction of an 85 MW PV portfolio
owned by Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji A.

The PV projects in the portfolio are located in Turkey's Konya province, Amasya, Tokat, Van and Malatya
.

The solar portfolio will be developed under the Renewable Energy Resource Support Mechanism (YEKDEM) developed by the Turkish government, which provides feed-in tariffs for projects to stimulate private investment growth
in the sector.

The total cost of the project is expected to be approximately $181 million
.

Once completed, the project will help Turkey install about 27GW of non-hydro renewable energy generation projects
by 2023.
About 5GW of this is expected to come from PV power projects
.
