DSM to showcase new high-performance materials at K 2019

At K 2019, DSM in Geleen, the Netherlands, will present its results in developing innovative technologies that satisfy customers and addressing key global challeng.

For sustainability, DSM has partnered with surfboard manufacturer Starboard to use DSM's AkulonRePurposed brand of nylon resin, which is completely recycled from discarded nylon fishing ne.

Different grades of copolyesters from the DSM Arnitel brand can be used as midsoles in sports shoes, offering a range of excellent properti.

Arnitel is also used to produce air-free puncture-resistant tir.

Ascend Performance Materials, the Houston-based global leader in nylon 66 production, is introducing new specialty polymers and plans to expand producti.

Ascend's new products include high-temperature and long-chain nylo.

Scott Rook, senior vice president of commercial, said the expansion of Ascend's adiponitrile feedstock will keep pace with growing demand for nylon 66 and support the company's growing specialty polymers and chemicals business.

"We're developing new products to help our customers meet new challenges," Rook sa.

Last year, Ascend began operating its first production facility outside the United States after acquiring a compounding company in Tilburg, the Netherlan.

Tokyo-based Polyplastics and its Topas Performance Polymers division will present new advances in acetal resins, cyclic olefin copolymers and other products at the sh.

For automotive applications, Polyplastics will focus on the recently launched Duracon brand of acetal grades for injection molding automotive fuel system componen.

Polyplastics will also present the latest developments in Durafide brand PPS, Duranex brand PBT and Laperos brand liquid crystal polyme.
