On December 5, Dow announced the launch of V PLUS Perform next polyurethane (PU) products, completing its V PLUS Perform
The latest upgrade
of PU.
This variety of PU is mainly used in thermal insulation metal plates, providing efficient thermal insulation and fire retardant performance for the insulation system, and combines the low-carbon and green characteristics
of adapting to the design of customer requirements.
Dow's alternative feedstocks come from bio-based feedstocks that are non-competitive with food and feed, as well as raw materials
sourced from post-consumer and post-industrial waste.
These alternative raw materials are used in the production of PU and distributed using a mass balance chain of custody, which has been certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) plus
.
In V
More than 1/4 of the total energy in the PLUS Perform next production process is renewable and certified by the European Union Renewable Energy System (RES
).
Alberto Mercati, a market researcher at Dow, said: "The new demand for energy efficiency in buildings has accelerated the urgency for energy-efficient insulation and carbon reduction
.
For the past 5 years, V PLUS
Perform products help insulation board manufacturers produce building materials
that are both energy-efficient and fire-safe.
V PLUS Perform
Next supports insulation board manufacturers in selecting low-carbon and circular components at the design stage, providing new products
for sustainable buildings.
”
Cyrille Schenck, senior sales director of Dow Polyurethanes, said: "The building materials industry accounts for about half of all materials used in Europe today, and the industry is under pressure
to make a green transition.
We look forward to the adoption of V
PLUS Perform next works
with EU customers.
