Recently, PV developer Dhamma Energy said it has sold a 130 MW PV project located in the northern Mexican state of Sonora to French energy group ENGIE
.
The unit, which has not yet been built, will provide energy
through a long-term corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) granted to ENGIE by steel producer Gerdau.
Dhamma Energy launched the project in 2014 and developed it until the preparatory construction stage
.
The installation is expected to be operational by the end of 2019, with Dhamma Energy providing assistance
throughout the construction phase and during the commissioning of the solar park by ENGIE.
As Dhamma Energy began developing the project in accordance with regulations implemented prior to Mexico's energy reform in 2014, the installation will benefit from reduced transmission tariffs and the use of the
public grid under the Energy Bank program.
"Through this project, Dhamma Energy has developed and sold 390MW of photovoltaic power generation to date, has a PPA in Mexico, and is one of the largest solar developers in the country's corporate program," said the co-founder of
Dhamma Energy.
Currently, these projects are in the construction phase
