Covestro, FFI sign green hydrogen supply agreement

On January 18, Australia's Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) announced that the company intends to sign a long-term agreement with Covestro to provide it with green hydrogen and green ammonia

It is reported that FFI will supply 100,000 tons of green hydrogen equivalent per year to Covestro from 2024

Andrew Forrest, Chairman of FFI, said: "This pioneering collaboration strengthens the role of green hydrogen to help accelerate the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries.

"We are delighted that the FFI shares Covestro's vision for a circular economy and is willing to take courageous action to foster much-needed green hydrogen market growth," said Covestro CEO Xerox

He added that Covestro uses hydrogen and its derivatives as raw materials for the production of high-performance polymers
