On August 19, Covestro's first physical recycling (MCR) production line dedicated to the blended production of polycarbonate (PC) recycled materials started construction at its integrated base in Shanghai

Covestro said the move is aimed at meeting the growing market demand for more sustainable solutions such as post-consumer recycled products, mainly covering applications such as electrical and electronic, automotive and consumer goods

Zhiya Su, Chief Commercial Officer of Covestro, said: “This MCR line is an exciting step forward in our commitment to a circular economy and our 2035 climate-neutral goal

Covestro said that in order to meet the rapidly growing demand from downstream customers for more sustainable and circular solutions, the company will continue to increase investment in expanding production capacity
