    Norwegian operator Lyse has revealed that its Altibox subsidiary has built an undersea cable system
    connecting Norway and the United Kingdom through a consortium.

    The 700-kilometer-long submarine cable system is part of the Euroconnect-1 fiber ring network to strengthen Norway's data center operations, with a maximum capacity of 160 terabits
    per second.

    The submarine cable across the North Sea and Euroconnect-1 connects Norway with central nodes in London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Hamburg, and connects Norway with data center points in Ireland, Denmark and Sweden
    .

    According to the plan, the construction of this Norwegian-British submarine cable should begin in early 2020 and be completed
    in 2021.

    Lyse's Altibox will become the operator of the North Sea Line with a 37.
    43% stake, along with Haugaland Kraft (26.
    28%), BKK Digitek (20.
    48%), Ryfylke IKS (0.
    72%), Green Mountain (2.
    02%) and Jacob Hatteland Holding (8.
    10%) and Polysys (4.
    70%)
