The Alliance to End Plastic Waste ("The Alliance") has released its 2020 Progress Report, detailing the work the organization is focusing on to achieve its vision and mission

What milestones have been achieved?In the 2020 Progress Report, examples of project milestones achieved by the Alliance and its members in four strategic areas:
In Jembrana, northwest of Bali, Indonesia, the STOP (Stop Ocean Plastics) project created Jembrana's first solid waste management service, and its comprehensive recycling system will create new long-term jobs

Zero Waste Plastic Cities, a shared vision of the Alliance and Grameen Creative Lab (Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus is a co-founder of the lab), is not only concerned with spills into the environment plastic waste and create sustainable social enterprises that aim to improve the lives of residents in Puducherry, India, and Tan An, Vietnam

Over the past year, the Alliance's End Plastic Waste Innovation Platform, in partnership with Plug and Play, has fostered a number of start-ups that can impact the plastics industry value chain

The alliance and its members will build investable models and partnerships over a 5-year period with strategic priorities including infrastructure development, innovation, cleanup, and education and engagement to:
Achieve zero plastic waste discharge in multiple cities, and divert more than millions of tons of plastic waste in more than 100 high-risk cities through alliance projects

Realize the local management right of waste and support the healthy life of more than 100 million people
.
Reinvest at least five times as much to accelerate actions and solutions to end plastic waste and build sustainable cities
