The main influencing factors and specific measures for longevity are summarized diagrams
The team of Professor Yu Jintai from the Department of Neurology of Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University revealed the key factors affecting longevity through a large-scale analysis of the environmental exposure factors of more than 390,000 people.
It is reported that longevity is a trait that is affected by genetics and the environment, and environmental factors may be more important for longevity
To this end, the Yujintai team applied Mendelian randomization research method, using longevity and exposureomics large-scale whole-gene association data to analyze and comprehensively explore the relationship between environmental exposure and longevity
The researchers used the large-scale longevity whole-genome association study cohort (with a sample size of 36745 cases) and the British biobank cohort (with a sample size of 361194 cases) as the longevity genetic association test population and the environmentally exposed population to conduct a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis.
At the same time, the Yujintai team also discovered for the first time some other adjustable factors that affect longevity
Yu Jintai said that the study is expected to promote longevity by intervening in key environmental factors
