With the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (approval number: 21988101) and other funding, the team of Xi Zhenfeng/Wei Junnian of Peking University and the team of Chen Ping/Guo Jianping of the Dalian Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have made progress in the synthesis method research of nitrogen as a direct nitrogen source, and the relevant results are entitled "Synthesis of Pyrimidines from Dinitrogen and Carbon sources".

    Nitrogen is the foundation

The team of Xi Zhenfeng/Wei Junnian and Chen Ping/Guo Jianping gave full play to the advantages of each team and achieved efficient synthesis of nitrides directly from nitrogen and a suitable carbon source without ammonia through continuous cross-cooperation (figure).
