    China-Myanmar Qingshuihe Port reopened for export of 4 products only

    According to the Myanmar Golden Phoenix News, the Qingshui River Chamber of Commerce stated that China has re-approved Myanmar to export four raw materials such as sugar cane , rubber, snow swallow and cotton to China through the Qingshui River port
    .
     
    There are a total of 8 ports in China and Myanmar to carry out border trade operations.
    From April 7 to July 8, 2021, all 7 land ports have been closed down one after another
    .
    From October 6, the Qingshuihe Port, the last land border trade port, was also announced to be closed
    .
    Except for supplies and medical equipment to fight the new crown epidemic, no other commodities are allowed in or out
    .
     
    At present, Myanmar's watermelon and other fruits have entered the peak season for export to China, and the closure of ports has made it difficult for Myanmar's agricultural products to enter the Chinese market

    After the Qingshuihe Port was closed, the Wanding Melon and Fruit Trade Market has repatriated thousands of Burmese workers back to the country

    It is reported that the Lincang City Bureau of Commerce in Yunnan Province, which borders the Qingshui River, has approved Myanmar to export sugar cane, rubber, snow swallows and cotton

    After obtaining permission from the Myanmar Ministry of Commerce, the above products can be exported
    .
    A person in charge of the Muse-Nankanbian Trade Chamber of Commerce stated that agricultural products such as rice, corn, peppers, watermelon, and cantaloupe have not yet been approved for export
    .
     
    Myanmar mainly exports agricultural products to China through the Qingshui River Port, and imports food and building materials from China
    .
    According to data from the Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar, in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, the border trade volume of Qingshui River Port was approximately US$541 million, of which Myanmar’s exports were US$400 million and imports were US$116 million
    .
    For the 2020-2021 fiscal year, as of the end of August 2021, Qingshui River’s trade volume is approximately US$450 million
    .
