The latest forecast from the Comité de Cerezas of the Association of Chilean Fruit Exporters (ASOEX) said Chile will export 89353878 boxes (5kg/carn) of fresh cherries in the 2022/23 season, totaling 446769 tonnes, an increase of 25%
    compared to the 2021/22 season.

Iván Marambio, chairman of ASOEX, said: "The 2021/22 season is the most complicated season
for Chile's cherry exports," Chilean Portal Fruticola reported.
We are now committed to working with Chile's Ministry of Agriculture, the Agency of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG), producers, exporters, and China to ensure that we have the ability to quickly resolve any issues
that may arise during the 2022/23 season.
In the new season, the Chinese market will continue to be the main export destination for Chilean cherries, and we will strive to diversify our market and export cherries
to other markets around the world.

"This will be a record season
    for Chilean cherry exports.
Now, we have an agreement with the Chinese side to ensure that exports can proceed
    more smoothly.
In addition, we discussed with all participants in the logistics chain, both public and private, how to make the transport process faster
    .
At the same time, we have recommended to the Chilean authorities that priority should be given to perishable products, such as fruits, in order to ensure that the export of these products is not affected by supply chain bottlenecks, which can contribute
to national and world food security.
    Marlambio added
    .

Cristián Tagle, president of Chile's Cherries Committee, noted: "Overall, we have good weather conditions, so our fruit quality will also be very good
    .
The Chilean Cherry Committee is ready to work hard to guarantee product quality and safety
    .
Fortunately, we are already seeing a pick-up in the logistics chain, and hopefully this will allow cherries to perform better in
    the market.

Tagle also said that in the 2022/23 season, Chile will continue to promote cherry exports through strong promotional activities, especially in the Chinese market, but also in other markets such as the United States, South Korea, Thailand, India and Vietnam
    .

Claudia Soler, manager of the Chilean Cherries Commission, said that based on the information currently available, Chilean cherry exports are expected to start in the 43rd week of 2022 and continue until the seventh week
    of 2023.
In the 2021/22 season, Chile exported a total of 356348 tons of fresh cherries, of which 313237 tons were destined for the Chinese market
    , she said.
