On May 26 , 2022 , Associate Professor Chen Suren's research group published a research paper titled " Loss of perinuclear theca ACTRT1 causes acrosome detachment and severe male subfertility " online in Development, a well - known journal of developmental biolog.

Mature sperm can be mainly divided into three parts : head , tail (flagella) and head-to-tail connectio.

Between the nuclear envelope ( NE ) and the inner membrane ( IAM ) , there is a layer of ~ 20 nm special skeletal structure - the subacrosomal plate ( Acro plaxome ) , which is the perinuclear layer ( part of Perinuclear theca .

This research was supported by the National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology ( 2019YFA0802101A ) and the Open Fund of the Key Laboratory of Cell Proliferation and Regulatory Biology of the Ministry of Educatio.
