Recently , the international academic journal Cell Insight published online the latest research results of the Lan Ke / Wu Shuwen team of the State Key Laboratory of Virology .
Enteroviruses include poliovirus, echo virus, rhinovirus, coxsackie virus and numbered enteroviruses such as EV-A71 , which can cause hand, foot and mouth disease, non-bacterial meningitis, and neonatal sepsis-like disease As well as various diseases of the respiratory system and nervous system, it seriously endangers public health .
In this research work , the researchers first screened 5 small molecule compounds that can effectively inhibit EV-A71 through a high-throughput drug screening platform .
The researchers also found that the mutation sites of drug-resistant strains were mainly concentrated in VP1 through drug resistance experiments , and explored the role of these mutation sites in virus resistance and adaptation through short-term drug treatment and long-term drug resistance experiments and reverse genetics experiments.
In conclusion , this work found that PTC-209HBr has broad-spectrum anti-enterovirus activity and revealed its anti- enterovirus molecular mechanism , while exploring the resistance and adaptive escape of enteroviruses to PTC-209HBr The evolutionary pathway has laid an important foundation for the further development of new anti-enterovirus drugs with high efficiency and low toxicity
