The European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) confirmed its previously announced 2022 forecast for EU chemicals production growth of 2.
Part of the growth in the EU chemical industry this year is expected to be driven by manufacturing demand, Cefic said, and in particular, the European automotive sector is expected to recover as supply chain issues are expected to ease during the year
"The chemical outlook for 2022 will be positive and moderate, reflecting the many uncertainties still facing Europe and the industry
"Export demand also picked up last year
Menzink said: “The recovery in 2021 is stronger than expected and is bringing industrial production back on track
