Sinochem News recently, the American agricultural company Cargill and Thailand's PTT Global Chemical Company (PTTGC) announced that they will build a bio-based polymer production facility in Thailand at a cost of more than 600 million U.

PTTGC said in a statement that the plant will be built through their joint venture, NatureWorks, in order to meet the market's growing demand for sustainable materials
.
It is reported that the production base will use about 110,000 tons of sugar provided by Thai farmers as raw materials each year, and has an annual production capacity of 75,000 tons of bio-based polymers.
It will start operation in 2024

The factory's products can be used to make sanitary masks, wipes and food packaging
