    BEIJING, Aug.

The paper suggests that, like humans, dogs experience cognitive decline with age, and animals suffering from CCD may show signs such as memory loss, loss of spatial sense, changes in social interaction, and sleep disturbances

Corresponding author Sarah Yarborough of the University of Washington, Seattle, and colleagues studied the incidence

The authors report that in dogs over the age of 10, the odds of being diagnosed with CCD increase by 68 percent

Their study also noted that in dogs of the same breed, age, health, and neuter status, the incidence of CCD was 6.
