Indonesia's state-owned power company PLN will operate three steam-fueled power plants (PLTUs) late this year and early next year, each generating 1,000 megawatts (MW), and will be used as an additional supply (PJB) to the Java-Bali power system to meet the growing demand for electricity

The three power plants are located in PLTU Java 7 Unit 1 in Bojonegara, PLTU Cilacap Expansion 2 in Central Jakarta, whose commercial operations will begin in October, and the PLTU Java 7 Unit 2 power plant
, which will operate in early 2020.
With the operation of the two power plants, the Java-Bali Power System will receive an additional supply of 2,000 MW from PLTU Cilacap Expansion 2 and PLTU Java 7 Unit 1 in late 2019 and 1,000MW from PLTU Java 7 Unit 2 from early 2020

With the operation of three power plants, the capacity of the Java-Bali power system will increase from 11,000 MW to 14,000 MW
by early 2020.
It is reported that the Java-Bali power system will also receive additional supply from other small power plants this year to further strengthen the supply capacity
of this interconnected grid.
