Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is expected to reduce the positive predictor of cytological testing (PPV)recently published a research paper in British Journal of Cancer, an authoritative journal of the field of cancer, in which researchers included 153,250 girls born between 1989 and 1993 who had lived in Sweden since the HPV vaccine (October 2006) and underwent cervical screening at the age of 23The researchers evaluated their first cytological examination results and evaluated histopathological diagnosis through the Swedish National Cervical Screening Registry (NKCx)Linked to Sweden's National HPV Vaccination Registration System, the researchers identified abnormal PPVs for cervical epithelial endothelioma (CIN2 plus) at level 2 or more, and differences in the 95% confidence interval (CIs) based on vaccination statusamong unvaccinated women, the results of the cytological examination at the CIN2 plus level were 69.9% (95% CI was 67.9-71.9), 64.9% (95% CI 59.8-69.8) and 57.4% (95%) CI was 50.9-63.7, and after adjusting the birth queue, PPV was reduced by 8% (95% CI 0-15%) and 17% (95% CI 7-26%) among those who were vaccinated in the 17-22 age group and vaccinated before the age of 17thus shows that women who were vaccinated had lower PPV for CIN2 plus cytological examination, while girls were more likely to have lower PPV than the younger the age of vaccinationThe shift from cytological testing to HPV testing may improve screening performance
