Patients with transient istemia attacks (TIA) have a higher risk of subsequent stroke, especially in the short term.
found that the overall risk of secondary stroke in patients within 7 days of TIA was 4-10% and increased to 8-12% within 90 days, so follow-up stroke risk assessment in TIA patients was critical.
recently looked at the effects of Canada's TIA Score on the stratosity of follow-up stroke risk in emergency TIA patients.
study, a forward-looking cohort study, was conducted in 13 emergency centers in Canada over a five-year period.
7,607 patients who had an emergency visit for a transient ischemic episode or a minor stroke were involved, and the main endpoint of the study was stroke within 7 days and or receiving endometriosis/cervical artery stent entomization within 7 days.
of the 7607 patients, 108 (1.4%) had a stroke within 7 days, 83 (1.1%) had an endometriosis/cervical artery stent in 7 days, and 9 had two end-of-life events simultaneously.
The Canadian TIA score includes 13 risk factors, including medical history (whether it is the first transient ischemia attack, whether the symptoms are more than 10 minutes, whether there is a history of cervical artery stenosis, whether antiplate platea treatment has been received, whether there is a history of gait disorders, a history of one-sided weakness, a history of vertigo, initial misdiagnosis Zhang pressure ≥110 mm HG, with or without speech disorder or aphasia) and emergency testing (electrocardial atrial fibrillation evidence, CT infarction evidence, plate count ≥400×109/L, blood sugar ≥15 mmol/L) 2 parts.
Based on the Canadian TIA score, the risk of stroke, endometriosis/cervical arterial stentization in patients within 7 days of TIA was classified as low risk (risk ≤0.5%), medium risk (risk 2.3%) and high risk (risk 5.9%), which was more accurate than the ABCD2 (0.60) or ABCD2i (0.64) model.
study found that the Canadian TIA score is an effective way to predict the risk of subsequent stroke in patients with transient isoemia episodes, which can help emergency doctors make early decisions to improve patient prognosis.
