Norway's seafood exports to China got off to a strong start in the first two months of the year, with salmon leading the way, despite the impact of theCovid- 19 outbreak in parts of China .

A total of 28,500 tonnes of fish worth NOK 1.
2bn (£100m) were sold in January and February, the Norwegian Seafood Agency said
    .
This is an increase of 111% over the same period in 2021 and a 30% increase in volume due to higher prices
    .
The Norwegian Seafood Agency said the price increase was driven by rising numbers and rising salmon prices, which had risen sharply in recent weeks
    .

It added: "Salmon accounted for 45 per cent of exports by value, which is higher than what we saw earlier in this period
    .
In addition, we have also seen a significant increase in the value of whitefish and pelagics
    .

Shanghai, a city of 26 million people, just imposed a 10-day lockdown to curb a sharp rise in coronavirus cases
    .
The Civil Aviation Administration of China recently announced that five airlines are moving flights from Shanghai to other Chinese cities between now and May 1, the Norwegian Seafood Authority said

At the same time, the Seafood Council launched a comprehensive consumer survey of seafood imported into China
