Blackrock, the world's largest investment firm, bought a 197.
4 MW wind power project in Western Norway through one of its funds and will pay for its construction
, Reuters reported.
It is understood that Zephyr, a Norwegian wind farm developer and operator, will continue to manage the construction
of the farm.
Construction of the project will cost about 200 million euros ($231.
67 million) and is expected to be completed
by the end of 2020.
The project will be built on Norway's west coast, and aluminium producer Alcoa will buy all the electricity produced for 15 years to power its Norwegian production plant

The wind farm will deliver 47 turbines with a capacity of 4.
2MW from Vestas and will have the capacity to produce enough electricity to power more than 40,000 homes
.
Construction funding for the project will be financed
by Blackrock's equity and Dekabank's long-term loan.
After the deal closes, its costs have not been disclosed, and Blackrock manages $5 billion in renewable energy assets, 170 of which are wind and solar projects

To date, BlackRock renewable energy projects have spread across Norway, Sweden, the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Ireland, France and the United Kingdom
