On July 9, 2021, BGI and the First People's Hospital of Changsha County, Hunan Province signed a strategic cooperation agreement, and officially launched the livelihood project of "Early Screening for Colon Cancer Based on the Community Grid Model"

This strategic cooperation is intended to respond to the "Healthy China Action (2019-2030)" cancer prevention and control action, shift the focus of bowel cancer prevention and control from "precision treatment" to "precision prevention", so that precision medicine can benefit more people , To help the construction of the whole life cycle health management network

In order to lay a solid foundation for the implementation of this colorectal cancer screening project and ensure that the screening project can be completed with high efficiency and high quality, after the signing ceremony, the 2021 Changsha County Lung Cancer and Colorectal Cancer Screening Work Deployment will be held.

At the meeting, Tang Feng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Changsha County Health Bureau, emphasized that in recent years, the incidence, mortality and medical expenses of malignant tumors in the county have been on the rise, and the medical expenses of malignant tumors are in the county’s various diseases.

Zhong Zhijun, secretary of the Party branch of the First People’s Hospital of Changsha County, pointed out that focusing on cancer prevention and treatment, it is necessary to vigorously promote, actively train, and carefully prepare, and continuously improve the level of screening and diagnosis and treatment technology to achieve cancer prevention and treatment.

The meeting also invited the expert team of Changsha County First People’s Hospital in charge of Wang Zhidong, deputy dean, Li Xiongying, director of the Tumor Prevention Office, and Hu Wenhong, director of the endoscopy room, from the "Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer", "Introduction to the Cancer Center", and "Colorectal Surgery".

At the end of the training, BGI’s expert team conducted technical training on Hua Changkang’s intestinal cancer genetic testing for the heads of local township hospitals, public health section chiefs, chronic disease specialists, and village doctors in their jurisdictions, including sampling kits.

This time, the residents’ free bowel cancer test uses the Huachangkang® non-invasive bowel cancer fecal genetic testing product developed by BGI.

In recent years, due to the influence of diet and environmental factors, the incidence of colorectal cancer has increased year by year, and it is the third most common malignant tumor in the world.

BGI will actively cooperate with Changsha County Health Bureau and Changsha County People's Hospital to promote the "Intestinal Cancer Early Screening Project" to help the prevention and control of intestinal cancer shift from focusing on disease diagnosis and treatment to focusing on prevention and combining prevention and treatment, and escort the health of the people
