The Bermuda delegation, which attended a high-profile conference on the global submarine cable industry this week, said it would promote the island as a strategic hub
for submarine cable systems in the Atlantic region.
The triennial Suboptic Cable Gala will take place this week in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the four-day summit will attract more than 800 attendees, including tech giants
such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Amazon.
The Bermuda Delegation said, "We are committed to promoting Bermuda as an information hub in the Atlantic, connecting submarine cable systems
built by the world's largest technology companies.
This Government is committed to helping to diversify Bermuda's economy and is currently making further progress through legislation, which has the potential to create economic growth and jobs in Bermuda and drive the island's demand for future technology
