"Key Supply Points"
The production base of Pasir Gudang is located in the comprehensive Johor Port Free Trade Zone, so it has become a strategic location for exports to the region.
"Because of its proximity to three world-class ports, the expansion will become the main supply point for our customers in Malaysia, Singapore and other ASEAN countries (and Australia and New Zealand (ANZ)).
"As BASF's internal growth business, we will continue to invest to strengthen our polymer dispersion asset network in the region, thanks to the strong support of our own R&D capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.
The new production line allows us to grasp the rapid Growth opportunities in growing emerging markets and enhance our reliability to ASEAN and ANZ customers," said Jeff Knight, BASF’s senior vice president of dispersion and resins in Asia Pacific.
BASF started operating its first acrylic dispersion production line in Malaysia in Pasir Gudang in 2015.
