    According to the Biodegradable Materials Research Institute, Australia's goal is to phase out a large number of single-use plastic products by 2025 .
    New South Wales (New South Wales) is the only state in Australia that has not committed to a complete ban on single-use plastic bags .
    But now, NSW is following other states in banning thin and light single-use plastic bags, with a specific single-use plastic ban coming into effect on June 1, 2022 .
