A start-up set up by researchers has developed a low-cost new wearable device that monitors heart and cardiovascular function, using artificial intelligence to analyze heart rate and breathing problems in real time, the University of Cambridge has announced.
According to the University of Cambridge, the wearable device, called Mind Awareness, is lightweight, has a waterproof housing, is equipped with multiple precision sensors, can collect important indicators such as the user's electrostature, body temperature and so on in real time, and more importantly, the device can wirelessly transmit this data to the cloud - that is, the remote data center, and then a specially designed artificial intelligence algorithm to analyze whether the user has abnormal heart rate and other issues.
team says the specially developed artificial intelligence algorithm automatically analyzes electrostat image data with more than 95 percent accuracy. Traditionally, it has been longer to accurately monitor and eventually diagnose heart rate problems using more bulky and expensive medical devices.
, one of the main members of the project, said the development of the device and artificial intelligence algorithm could provide cardiologists with real-time and effective diagnostic aids.
team hopes the device will improve the average person's monitoring of abnormal heart rate and reduce the risk of stroke, and they have begun clinical trials of the device in the UK. (Xinhuanet)
