Arkema has announced a 50% increase in global production capacity for its Oleris® high-performance bio-based oleochemicals, scheduled to start in mid-2022
.
Oleris® covers the C7, C11 and C18 series, including products such as n-heptanoic acid, n-heptanal, undecylenic acid and Esterol
A.
This additional capacity will be achieved through Arkema's previously announced large-scale bio-based plant in Jurong Island, Singapore, which is currently under construction
.
For many years, Arkema has been a leader in high performance bio-based C7, C11 and C18 oleochemicals used in the cosmetics, fragrances and fragrances, lubricants, construction and pharmaceutical markets
.
These specialty chemicals are 100% derived from fully renewable castor beans, and Oleris® high-performance bio-based materials are known for their carbon neutrality during production, high purity, broad compliance and technical quality
.
The new capacity, scheduled to start production in mid-2022, will complement Arkema's existing production in Marseille, France
.
This represents a leap forward in Arkema's global supply security
.
Philippe Marthet, General Manager of Oleris® High Performance Bio-based Materials, said: "This is an important step for us in sustainable bio-based materials, and the market demand for truly sustainable solutions has never been greater
.
We are committed to promoting sustainable Castor planting, expanding our global supply capacity and growing with customers
.
This capacity expansion is fully in line with our strategy to support localized supply in various regions, and the market has also shown strong demand for bio-based specialty materials.
It can be said that it is timely
.
