Argentine bottled wine exports fall 6%, wine merchants ask to suspend export withholding tax

Argentina's "Financial Journal" reported on July 19, according to data released by the National Institute of Viticulture , after the export of bottled red wine in Argentina achieved three consecutive years of growth from 2018 to 2021, the export volume fell to 109 million liters from January to June 202 , a year-on-year decrease of 6%; the export value in the same period was 381 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 1.
According to the report, factors such as the import and export restrictions imposed by the Afghan government, domestic inflation and parallel exchange rates have all adversely affected the export of Afghan win.
Trapped by the insufficient supply of basic materials and the increase in production costs, the Argentine Wine Chamber of Commerce recently asked the government to suspend the collection of export withholding taxes on bottled wine export.
