    Circular RNA (circRNA) in eukaryotes is through a special alternative splicing process-reverse splicing-from the 3'end of the exon to the 5'end of the upstream exon.


    Hedgehog signaling plays an important role in normal development and homeostasis, and its continuous activation is associated with the initiation and growth of a variety of tumors-including basal cell carcinoma, medulloblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, breast cancer, colon cancer, and pancreatic cancer And lung cancer


    A new study from the Department of Biosciences and Nutrition (BioNut) of the Karolinska Institute analyzed and determined the circular RNA transcriptome expression profile of medulloblastoma Daoy and human embryonic palatal mesenchymal HEPM cells in the context of Hedgehog signal activation.


    Some of these circRNAs have established biological effects in other tumor cells.


    Currently, Azatyan and Zaphiropoulos are expanding the analysis of a larger cohort that includes samples from all four medulloblastoma subtypes, namely SHH, WNT, and the other two groups of samples, which may help pinpoint the medulla mother.
