the import value was US $970 million, up 4% The trade volume of livestock products accounted for 17.5% of the total trade volume of agricultural products, down 0.7% over the previous year 1 The export of livestock products from January to June 1 The export of livestock products decreased from February to May 2002, while the export of other two months increased From January to June 2002, the total export of livestock products in China was larger than the total import, with a cumulative trade surplus of 360 million US dollars, a decrease of 160 million US dollars over the previous year Among them, the export value in January was 240 million US dollars, up 21.6% year on year; the trade surplus was $32.394 million, down year on year Among them, the export of natural honey is 26000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 44.3%; the export of fresh royal jelly is 261.9 tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.8% (9) rabbit meat Exports reached 9.017 million US dollars, down 73.1% year on year 3 Changes in the ranking of countries where exports arrive From January to June 2002, China's livestock products were mainly exported to Japan, Hong Kong, the United States, India, Russia, Germany, South Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore, Italy and Macao, etc compared with the same period in 2001, Russia and Macao were added to the top 10 countries (regions) in terms of exports, and China's exports to most countries (regions) were lower than that in 2001 However, exports to Russia, Macao, China and the United States showed a momentum of growth, with exports of US $50 million, US $20 million and US $110 million, respectively, up 3.6 times, 5.9% and 1.4% year-on-year 4 The export volume of livestock products in Henan and Hunan increased significantly From January to June 2002, the export volume of livestock products in most provinces of China decreased compared with the same period in 2001 The top 10 are Shandong, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Shanghai, among which Sichuan, Henan, Hunan, and Beijing, among which Sichuan, Beijing, Guangdong and Shanghai decreased by 29.7%, 16.1%, 11.9% and 11.5% respectively, while Hunan and Henan's exports were US $0.5 billion and us $0.4 billion, up 20.4% and 15% year-on-year 2 The main reasons for the decline in exports of major livestock products are the decline in exports of meat and edible offal, live pig and bee products to Asia and Europe The direct reason for this situation is that the EU stopped importing some animal products from China from January 25, 2002 But the deep reason is that after China's accession to the WTO, the western developed countries take the food safety problem as the reason, and use the trade technical barriers, especially the "green barriers" to "light the red light" to China, so as to prevent our agricultural products from entering its market Therefore, whether the internal quality and health standard of livestock products can meet the international or imported standards will become the bottleneck of expanding the export of livestock products in China in the future 3 Countermeasures and suggestions for stabilizing and expanding the export of livestock products in China (1) formulate technical regulations and standards for agricultural products export as soon as possible, and establish a quality certification system for agricultural products export According to the new situation and characteristics of international trade changes after the WTO, we should make use of the provisions allowed by WTO rules to revise and formulate new standards and regulations to protect the interests of China's livestock products and consumers, so as to make the export of China's livestock products get equal treatment in international competition (2) strive for mutual recognition with foreign certification and inspection institutions According to the regulations of WTO, if the inspection standard of our country's animal products reaches the international standard, after the inspection of our country is completed, we can strive for international mutual recognition But it is very difficult to achieve this The government departments should actively support and encourage the export enterprises of our country to obtain certification and mutual certification in foreign countries, create conditions for these enterprises, such as mutual recognition of management ability and laboratory ability, let the international recognize the inspection report from our laboratory, and then gradually improve the popularity and credibility of domestic enterprises (3) further strengthen the construction of our country's agricultural product quarantine and inspection team, and improve the level of our country's agricultural product quarantine and inspection (4) promote scientific breeding and management, change the traditional breeding mode of livestock products in China, gradually implement the standardization and green management of production and management in the whole process from farm to dining table, and thoroughly improve the quality of livestock products in China.
