Transient hypocalcemia caused by parathyroid or vascular manipulation is a common complication after thyroidectomy.

Vascular Vitamin D

The study included 100 patients with moderate or severe vitamin D deficiency who planned to undergo total thyroidectomy.

The results showed that there were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of demographic data.

In summary, the results of the study show that vitamin D supplementation in patients with vitamin D deficiency can reduce the incidence of early symptomatic hypocalcemia.
