Blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease (AD) have the potential to be implemented as a non-invasive screening tool
The researchers created sample sets to address the effects of blood collection tube type, delayed centrifugation of EDTA plasma, centrifugation temperature, aliquots, delayed storage, and freeze-thaw
The results showed that collection tube type resulted in different values for all assessed markers
Taken together, this study constructs a standardized operating procedure for plasma processing to facilitate the introduction of blood-based biomarkers into research and clinical settings
