AkzoNobel will further expand its long-term presence in South and Central America following an agreement to acquire Colombian paint and coatings company Grupo Orbis
.
Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of this year or early 2022
.

The Orbis Group has operations in 10 countries in South America, Central America and the Antilles, with consolidated revenues of approximately 1.
2 billion pesos (260 million euros)
.
The deal includes the Pintuco paints and coatings business, Andercol and Polyquim (resins) and Mundial (distribution and services)
.
