Arkema has been recognized by BMW, a leading German carmaker, for its innovative role in producing high-performance special polymers from sustainable castor oil and its leadership role in the Pragati Initiative. A total of 15 suppliers worldwide are recognized for BMW's innovation.
November 21st, BMW's Centre of Excellence in Ranchhout, Germany, was recognized by BMW from 15 suppliers around the world for outstanding achievements in five categories: sustainability, productivity, efficient power, digitalization and emotional experience .
, BASF (Winner of the Grand Prize) and Samsung SDI received sustainability awards for outstanding achievements in the field of sustainability, each of which was praised by BMW for its outstanding achievements.
at the awards ceremony, BMW executives said: "Akoma has launched a sustainability program that includes supporting 2,700 Indian castor growers and helping them increase castor production by 55% in a short period of two years. Akoma Arkema extracts raw materials from castor seeds and synthesizes organic plastics that can be used in cars, including the BMW i3.
Erwoan PEZRON, Global President of Akoma Technology Polymers, and Mr. Virginia DELCROIX, Vice President of Sustainable Development of Akoma, accepted the award on behalf of Akoma.
