Sinochem News Network News On July 9, Air Liquide Group and Jiangsu Shagang Group signed a new long-term industrial gas supply agreement in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province
.
Air Liquide Group will invest about 100 million euros to build a world-scale air separation plant in its Zhangjiagang plant, which currently operates two air separation plants
This advanced factory will use low-carbon energy and will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the future
.
The new air separation unit will also produce krypton and xenon to meet the growing needs of the electronics industry, while supplying air for the group's general industrial business in China
According to this 20-year long-term contract, Air Liquide will construct, own and operate an advanced new air separation unit with a daily oxygen production capacity of 3,800 tons.
It is the largest single-unit air separation unit in the global steel industry and is also an Air Liquide Group.
The largest air separation plant in China
.
The device is expected to be put into operation at the end of 2023, when the Zhangjiagang plant's designed daily oxygen output will exceed 8,000 tons per day
This new air separation unit is equipped with a proprietary solution that can store 60MW of electricity per day, which helps to improve the flexibility of electricity use and the reliability of gas supply
.
This device will replace the old air separation device on the customer site, and gradually increase the proportion of low-carbon energy use, reduce the carbon footprint of this flagship plant, and fulfill Air Liquide’s commitment to carbon neutrality
The device will also become an important source of Krypton and Xenon for Air Liquide Group to meet the growing needs of the electronics industry
.
The Zhangjiagang plant will also become Air Liquide’s largest producer of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen in China, and the ultra-pure oxygen produced can be supplied to small and medium-sized liquid and cylinder gas customers in East China, including local hospitals that require high-purity medical oxygen
Air Liquide Group has nearly 120 factories and nearly 5,000 employees in China.
