Chemical recycling pioneer Agilyx has more than 16,000 hours of commercial operation in Oregon, USA, converting 4,400 tons of plastic waste
.
This is achieved through the use of mixed waste plastic and PS, which is the current mode of operation in Tigard, Oregon, and the unit is now part of a joint venture between Regenyx and AmSty
.
Both mixed plastic waste and PS waste were procured directly by Agilyx using the Feedstock Management Program, which was later incorporated into the Cyclyx joint venture
.
Agilyx claims this important operational milestone is equivalent to diverting the weight of about 20 Statues of Liberty from landfills and the ocean
.
Tim Stedman, CEO of Agilyx, said: "This is a solid proof that the plastic recycling model is not only effective but achievable
.
It will also soon demonstrate that the projects we are working on with our various partner companies are also highly scalable and will help Because of our commitment to tackling the plastic waste problem
.
