MainOne Cable Company, an infrastructure company based in Nigeria, has completed the landing of the MainOne submarine cable in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), thus concluding the final leg
of its ongoing expansion to Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire.
That is, after the MainOne submarine cable system makes landfall at Grand Bassam Beach, the cable will be connected to the existing path
on the MainOne cable trunk that is already located offshore.
In addition, the system will be connected to MainOne's new Tier III data center
in Abidjan.
In September 2018, Orange signed agreements with MainOne for the construction and installation of two new branches and landing sites in Dakar (Senegal) and Abidjan
.
Through the partnership, Orange will receive additional capacity for the MainOne cable and will become the owner
of the Dakar cable landing station.
