Adani Group, India's largest port developer and operator, announced that its transmission company will appoint Mr.
Anil Sardana, a senior power industry professional, as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 May
.
It is understood that Mr.
Sardana, who previously served as President and CEO of Tata Power Group, has more than three decades of experience
in the power and infrastructure sector.
Since he started his career at NTPC, he has subsequently worked with BSES and Tata Group companies in the power and Infra sectors in the areas of
power generation, power system design, distribution, telecommunications and project management.
Mr.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, said, "Anil Sadana joined us at a critical stage
in the acquisition of the Mumbai GTD business into the distribution space.
”
Mr Sadana holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Honours) degree (1980) from Delhi University and is also a Graduate
in Management from the All India Management Association.
He has received management training
at institutions such as IIM-A and EPRI-US.
