ABB Group, a global power and automation technology specialist, has secured orders worth more than US$150 million from Danish energy company Orsted (formerly East Energy) to provide technical services
for wind power transmission at Hornsea Project Two, the world's largest offshore wind farm.
ABB said Wednesday that the orders will be credited to second-quarter 2018 results and are part of a global five-year agreement on the supply
of electrical and automation equipment for offshore and onshore wind connections and grid integration.
Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm has an installed capacity of 1,400 megawatts (MW) to develop North Sea wind resources
about 100km off the Yorkshire coast.
When completed, it will be able to provide enough clean electricity
to more than 1.
3 million homes each year.
