There are only about 30 plants in Dawei Mountain, Yunnan. Recently, Yunnan Daweishan River Mouth Management and Protection Branch, together with researchers from Southwest Forestry University and Shenzhen Orchid Plant Protection Research Center, published a new species of ancient fern-Su Gong in the internationally renowned academic journal Phytotaxa. In 2011, the staff of the Daweishan River Mouth Management and Protection Bureau in Yunnan found a peculiar species of Synechomaceae during a plant survey. After nearly 10 years of observation and comparison of morphological and cytological studies, it was confirmed that this species is an undescribed new species of the genus Pteridophyte in the family Pteridium On August 26, 2021, the newly discovered species was officially published and named Sugong rosette fern This species is mainly distributed in the Daweishan estuary jurisdiction. The rosette fern has a long origin. There are currently about 30 to 40 species of plants in this genus, including 30 species in China (17 species are endemic).
